JAMB announces the admissions cut-off marks for 2022
The minimum cut-off point for admission into tertiary institutions in Nigeria has been decided upon by the Joint Admission and Matriculation Board (JAMB) and other stakeholders.
At the 2022 Policy meeting, it was unanimously agreed that 140 would be the minimum cut-off marks for admission to a university. Polytechnics and Monotechnics is 100 , while Colleges of Education will be 80.
The collective decision of all heads of tertiary institutions, both private and public, was made during the 2022 Policy meeting in Abuja, headed by the Minister of Education, Mallam Adamu Adamu.

Prof Ishaq Oloyede, JAMB Registrar, emphasized that the aforementioned elements are the bare minimum, but that this does not imply that universities must fully adhere with them.
"Institutions have the freedom to set their own cut-off marks, but it must not be lower than the cut-off agreed upon at the policy meeting," he explained.
Prof Charles Esimone, Vice Chancellor of Nnamdi Azikiwe University, was among those who supported the proposal at the meeting.
